Abstract
Diagnosis of sarcoidosis in endemic areas for tuberculosis (TB) can become a great challenge. Both the
entities are granulomatous diseases. TB is characterized by caseating granulomas, whereas sarcoidosis
is characterized by non-caseating granulomas. Sarcoidosis is increasingly being diagnosed in areas endemic
for TB due to increased orientation about the disease and availability of diagnostic modalities. However, it
is often difficult to differentiate between TB and sarcoidosis, especially when patients present with clinicopathological
features of both.
