Abstract
Multiple myeloma is a malignant tumor characterized by monoclonal proliferation of terminally differentiated
B cells (plasma cells), affecting primarily the bone marrow and skeletal system. It accounts for approximately
1% of all malignancies and 10% of haematological tumors. It becomes difficult to arrive at an early diagnosis
because myeloma manifests itself in different forms. Multiple myeloma presenting primarily as a swelling
in the chest wall is relatively rare and not many cases have been reported in the literature where fine needle
aspiration cytology (FNAC) has helped in making the diagnosis. Hereby, we present a case of multiple
myeloma in a 65 years old female presented as an anterior chest wall swelling and diagnosed by FNAC.
