Abstract
Bronchodilation is the cornerstone of the management of COPD. Inhaled bronchodilators, including long
acting muscarinic antagonists (LAMAs), have been shown to improve symptoms and health status while
reducing exacerbation rates and are the mainstay of pharmacological treatment for COPD. Tiotropium and
glycopyrronium are the two widely used LAMAs. Both of them have almost similar efficacy and safety in
COPD management but glycopyrronium provides a faster onset of action in bronchodilation than tiotropium
and helps to alleviate symptoms early in COPD patients.
