Abstract
Diffuse oesophageal spasm (DES) is a hypermotility disorder of oesophagus.Oesophageal contractions
are repetitive, simultaneous and high amplitude of prolonged duration. It is five times less common than
Achalasia Cardia.Corkscrew oesophagus is a classical feature of DES. We report a case with dysphagia
and retrosternal discomfort who has barium oesophagogram showing incoordinated peristalsis with
simultaneous contraction of oesophagous at multiple points (so called corkscrew oesophagus).
