An Elderly Lady with Bilateral Pleural Effusion and Nail Changes

Abstract
The yellow nail syndrome is a rare disorder characterized by the classic triad of yellow and dystrophic
nails, lymphedema and pleural effusion. The associations with the syndrome are chronic respiratory tract
diseases, autoimmune disorders, malignancies and immunodeficiency conditions. Only one third of cases
in the literature show all findings. Here a case of yellow nail syndrome, presenting the classic triad of the
disease is being reported.
