Abstract
Ovarian teratoma, one variety of Ovarian Germ cell tumours (OGCT) are a type of ovarian neoplasm
principally affecting young women. They are derived from primitive germ cells of the embryonic gonad
and may undergo germinomatous or embryonic differentiation. Pleural tissues are one of the most
uncommon sites for metastasis of ovarian teratoma. We report a case of a patient who presented with
Pleural Effusion with abdominal mass. Detailed history, physical examination and investigations (chest
radiography, pleuroscopy, pleural and ovarian tissue biopsy) revealed a case of malignant pleural effusion
with immature ovarian teratoma.
