A Middle Aged Man With Respiratory Tract Infection Since Childhood

Abstract
Kartagener‘s syndrome, a rare autosomal recessive disorder is a type of primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD)
associated with situs inversus, bronchiectasis, sinusitis and male infertility. Here a case is reported of a 32
year old man who was presented with recurrent upper and lower respiratory tract infection since early
childhood along with situs inversus totalis and was diagnosed as a case of kartagener’s syndrome. He had
all the classical clinical and radiological features of Kartagener’s syndrome which is a rare inherited disorder
and is seen in nearly half of the cases of primary cilliary dyskinesia (PCD).
